The Kuwano Lab Alumni Retreat was held in Numazu on November 8th and 9th!

It was a massive gathering with over 40 attendees under one roof! We were joined by alumni we hadn’t seen in ages, “legendary” seniors we’d only ever heard stories about, alumni from the closely related Kiyota Lab, and even their families.

We kicked things off with the traditional (?) 50-meter dash! The highlight was seeing just how much our times have slowed down compared to when we were kids running around outside!

After the race came the “Seminar.” In name only, of course—it was actually a really fun time with self-introductions and a game of charades. After the race came the “Seminar.” In name only, of course—it was actually a really fun time with self-introductions and a game of charades.

The venue was absolutely buzzing with the race results announcement and the entertainment performances.

After dinner, we kept the momentum going with the after-party (and the after-after-party!). We even received a generous gift of sake from Prof. Jiro!!

We deepened our bonds across generations through all kinds of games and conversations.

The next morning, everyone went sightseeing at their leisure, bringing the retreat to a close. I was able to connect with way more alumni than I expected!

I’m already looking forward to the next year’s party!
