From October 21st to 26th, 2025, four members of the Kuwano Research Lab—Hara, Hu, Jiang, and Shi—attended the 10th Civil Engineering Conference in the Asian Region (CECAR10) held on Jeju Island, South Korea. All four delivered oral presentations and actively participated in discussions with researchers from around the world across diverse fields, gaining numerous valuable insights and suggestions.
2025年10月21日～26日、桑野研究室の原、胡、蒋、石の4名が韓国・済州島で開催された CECAR10（Civil engineering for sustainable and harmonious Asia）に参加しました。4名全員が口頭発表を行うとともに、世界各地・多様な分野の研究者による発表を聴講し、意見交換を通じて多くの有益な示唆と助言を得ることができました。
Outside the academic sessions, the team explored Jeju Island’s famous natural and cultural sites, including the columnar joint formations associated with the island’s volcanic history and the Yakcheonsa Buddhist Temple. These visits offered rich opportunities to appreciate both the geological and cultural beauty of Jeju.
学会の合間には、済州島の自然と文化に触れる時間も設けました。火山活動と島の形成に関連する柱状節理帯や、歴史ある仏教寺院・薬泉寺などを見学し、済州島の独特な地質と文化的背景に深く感銘を受けました。
They also enjoyed walking through Jeju’s traditional folk market, experiencing the island’s local lifestyle and cuisine. Among their favorites were:
– Jeju black pork barbecue (Hu’s recommendation)
– Korean-style fried chicken (Hara’s favorite)
– Cold noodles and Bibimbap
—resulting in a modest but noticeable weight gain for everyone (haha).
さらに、地元の民俗市場を訪れ、韓国ならではの食文化と人々の暮らしに触れました。特に、
・黒豚焼肉（胡おすすめ）
・韓国式フライドチキン（原おすすめ）
・冷麺、ビビンバなど
を堪能し、全員の体重が多少増加したとか（笑）。
Through this conference, all four members gained not only academic insights but also a broader international perspective. They look forward to future conferences and to visiting South Korea again someday.
本学会を通して、4名は国際的な視野を広げるとともに、研究・交流の両面で多くの成果を得ました。次回の学会、そして再び韓国を訪れる機会を楽しみにしています。
