From September 5 to 8, we conducted a field survey with three B3 students in Mt. Kurikoma.
In 2008, the Iwate-Miyagi Nairiku Earthquake caused a slope failure in Dozo-zawa River near the summit of Mt. Kurikoma. The debris flow caused by the slope failure flowed for about 10 km.
However, due to the difficulty of accessing, the mechanisms of the slope failure and long-distance debris flow have not yet been understood.
In this study, we performed in-situ testing and sampling.
Someone drived long distances, someone carried the heavy load, and someone showed a talent in specimen shaping… everyone did their best and completed the survey!
